Neither wind, nor snow, nor freezing rain….
Author: gstevens | December 14, 2007 on 1:12 pm | In WOW Stories, Embrace Opportunity, All Else | 1 CommentI remember growing up in Rhode Island…if there was even a hint of snow coming, we’d get all excited about the prospects of a day off from school. Even after I graduated from college and was working at General Dynamic’s Electric Board Division (designing and testing computer systems on Trident Submarines), I welcomed the opportunity for a day off with snowy weather…quite the contrast from our Northeast Superstar teams in Worcester and Manchester. Yesterday both these towns were pummeled with a Nor’easter that dropped a foot or more of snow…Tony H gave Paul and Scottie J the option to remain open or to close. The easy answer would have been to close…but impressively, both made the call to stay open! This is the essence of a Make it Happen, Embrace Opportunity leadership style, and I applaud Paul, Scotty, and their teams for gutting it out! Thanks to all of Team Worcester and Team Manchester for showing us that adverse weather can be nothing more than a small bump in the road…I’m sure that your guests also appreciated your efforts!
Happy Holidays!

The Toys for Tots drive was a huge success and our guest really enjoyed the presence of the Marines in full dress uniform. As they entered the club and people took notice a proud silence carried across the room. It was very special.
The Marines interacted with the guests and wished them well and to be safe during thier next tour oversee’s. They even played a game of pool with the guests. The photo below is the Marines with a guest in the billiards room.

This event was a huge success and was headed by ESM Jennifer Masto. Several large bags of toys were donated to the cause and the Marines left with full hands. We salute the women and men of all divisions of the service and thank them for there help. Happy Holidays to all in the JBC family.
Sincerely,
Team San Francisco
